The casual endless pickup and play games industry, started by Sunflat’s Papi Jump and Lima Sky’s Doodle Jump, keeps on expanding as more and more of the same genre keep popping up. Get Set Games’ new game which is like this, really adds a ton of action to the classic and makes it a much more adventurous and enjoyable experience than the rest!

Review

Mega Jump is a casual endless game (if you can last that long) that takes Doodle Jump and transforms it into a more intense version.

When you start up the game, OpenFeint can be activated, and then you can start playing in the one game mode available from the main menu. You control a large eyed, orange, baby dinosaur looking creature and control his sideways movement by tilting your device left and right like other of the same genre. However, the advancement in height is not by using the usual platforms that can constantly support your character; but coins that are strewn all around the screen boost you up and then disappear.

The main premise of the game is simple: get to the highest point that you can reach and collect the most coins that you’re able to. Along the way into the sky, their is a diverse range of powerups that can help you and furthermore boost you higher than the regular coins. Each on them activates a different helpful action and a humorous animation.

The graphics are something that I mainly enjoy looking at. They’re the best combination possible with the cartoon eye bulging of the character to the animations that will most undoubtedly put a toothy grin on your face.

Everything in the game puts it a few steps above other of the same type of casual pick up and play jumping games. The action packed gameplay will keep you playing longer than you expected and time will fly when you start to play. Even though there is only one mode of play, the one makes up for the lack of others. It’s just so easy to get hooked! Think of a Doodle Jump, but so much more!

Tips

This isn’t a game where the coins will stay forever like the platforms in Doodle Jump. With that being said, you have to pay close attention to the position of the coins at all times if you want to live for a long time.

Recommendation

Mega Jump is slightly new and it’s selling for only a dollar. You’ll be amazed with how long you’re going to be playing! Cheap price, but rich gameplay!

You're right it is a nice polished game, but I think I prefer Bird Strike as it has a bit more substance. However, the developers might continue to update the game and possibly add a challenge mode.
