Looking for a small yet cheap external battery back up for your iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, or any other device. The NuPower Charge & Sync + supports any device that uses the 30 pin connecter, Micro USB, and Mini USB. This in itself is a plus.(Get it? a + from NuPower Charge & Sync +)

Review

A major player for me is space. I need space in my bag when I travel, unlike other chargers the NuPower Charge & Sync + has a built in power adapter(plug) which means I do not have to bring a separate one wherever I go. This was very smart of Newer Technology to include this.

When I first looked at the picture online I really thought this product would be a large, fat, and heavy external battery. When I first took it out of the box to my surprise it was very lightweight and small. It packs a 1400 mAh battery, about 1 full charge on the iPhone. 2.3″ x 2.9″ x .8″, yes just continue to gaze at those specs. For a device as unique like this, it is very amazing. The cable which connects to your device wraps around the NuPower Charge itself, instead of just hanging off of it.

The device has 2 LED’s, one which is red and one which is green. The red one lights up when the device is charging and turns off when it is done. The green LED tells you when you are using the NuPower Charge’s battery. I do wish there was a way to tell how much battery you have left though. After a certain point the output is not great enough to hold a charge to your device. A button which is located right next to the LED’s was very well thought out. Instead of having the button pushed into to be on this device must have the button pushed out. This is excellent especially if you cram everything into one bag.

The plug is simply pushed out of the device by a slider. Just slide it and the button is out, slide it back in and the plug is back in. It’s that simple. The door which houses the actual plug that goes into your device is my far most complaint about the device. The door just pops out which is very annoying because I’m afraid that I am going to loose it. I rather have it just pop up with a hinge.

When I first saw the name of the device NuPower Charge and Sync +, I was very confused on where the sync comes into play. Turns out that you can pop off the wire which plugs into your device and use it as a regular USB to 30-pin connecter. While you are syncing your NuPower Charge can be syncing! Just another way Newer Technology was able to cram everything into one small device.

Overall, I have been very happy about the NuPower Charge & Sync +, it is a great addition to my traveling bag. It is very inexpensive which is another + just in case you loose it.

The NuPower Charge & Sync + is available macsales.com for the low price of $35.00 compared to other $70 dollar batteries.

Recommendation

I recommend this product to anyone who is afraid of buying an expensive external battery and then loosing it.
