The next update for the Blackberry OS will take the device to version 5 and it will undoubtedly add tabbed browsing to its features. Most all desktop browsers today offer tabs, so most of us are used to this idea.

According to the Boy Genius Report, the problem is that there is no keyboard shortcut for changing between tabs. The hope is that before the beta version of the OS with the tabbed feature goes live, the official release version changing between tabs will be easier.

Users can only hope that the addition of tabs does not make the browser a memory hog and that it won’t adversely affect the performance of the phone. We can expect to see OS 5.0 (along with tabbed browsing) to make its debut on your BlackBerry devices in the very near future.
