BlueRay iPhone GameA Blu-ray player with an internet connection, plus an iPhone or iTouch, equals a whole new movie experience, according to Home Media Magazine. Starting with the release of the two-disc edition of Fast & Furious on Blu-ray on July 28, Universal Studios Home Video will begin releasing titles that will allow owners to enhance their movie-watching experience with the aid of their iPhones or iTouch.

By downloading a special iPhone/iTouch application from the iTunes app store, users will be able to control certain interactive content on the Blu-ray discs. In the case of the upcoming Fast & Furious set, iPhone and iTouch users will be able to control a 360-degree view of cars from the movie while pulling up their specifications.

This is the first sample of the integration between Blu-ray discs and the iPhone/iTouch. Universal’s future plans include giving the users the ability to control playback of their Blu-ray players, gain access to information about the movie and even login to social networking sites to make status updates about their movie-watching experience.
