Tilt to Live App Review for iPhone and iPod Touch: Use the Accelerometer to Survive!

One Man Left recently released their first game, Tilt to Live. Depend on the iPhone’s and iPod Touch’s unique accelerometer capability to live! How long will you stay alive until the dots get you?

Staying alive is your only object as you take the role of an arrow. Hoards of small red circles surround you trying to achieve one thing: Killing you!

To control your arrow, you simply tilt your iDevice. I have to compliment a feature that Tilt to Live includes. It has multiple options for calibrating. There is regular which is when you are sitting straight up. There is Top-Down which is when you are bending down slightly without holding the iDevice level to your head. There is a custom feature which let’s you manually calibrate. But the one that really catches my eye that pretty much now other app has is the “Sleepy” option. You use this when you are lying down somewhere. Many accelerometer controlled games force you to sit up while playing them, but with this one feature, Tilt to Live doesn’t.

The waves of dots start off easy and not too many appear at one given time. However, later pretty much all you can see are red dots with still the one thing in mind; to kill you.

Now, there is also a way to get rid of the dots. There are powerups that give you power to kill your raging foes. With eight different ways to massacre the dots, you should rack up combos rapidly.

The artwork and graphics are amazing and very eye attractive. There is also nice background music that gives you a “funky” feeling.

Eventually you are bound to die, but how long can you last?

Tilt to Live takes addictiveness to a whole new level! It is probably one of the best pick up and play games on the appstore!

Tips

Like many other pick up and play games, there is no way to get awesome at the game other than experience.

Recommendation

I think Tilt to Live has the potential to go far on the app store. It has awesome graphics, and gameplay. Anyone who has an iDevice should own this game and have the experience of playing it!
